08It’s autumn again!  One type of call we get pretty frequently this time of year is from people who say they have dog poop all over their yard, but it doesn’t look like its from their dog.  More than likely (although we have seen the exception) its from lawn aeration.  If a core aerator was used then it leaves behind the little plugs it pulls from the earth to let air (oxygen) in.  Do you see it in only one part of your yard and you didn’t aerate?  Check with your neighbor, sometimes these machines are a bit difficult to use and they may have gone over into your yard accidentally.   So if you see your yard is covered with what might look at dog poop, get a bit closer. (Although not too close, just in case!)  Aeration cores will have a bit of grass on the end and you may be able to see roots going down from there. Still not sure and want somebody to take a look?  Let us know! One additional tip:  If you are planning to aerate and have an underground dog fence, call the company to come out and mark the wire!  A marking fee is usually much less than a service call to fix a broken fence.
